Alaaf, Helau – or whatever battle cry applies to you. While the season is traditionally opened in Cologne on November 11th, preparations for Carnival and Fastnacht are also beginning elsewhere - individual clothing for Carnival. Cologne Carnival
And, of course, the costume is part of it. But what about before the performance, after the parade, during travel, while setting up, at rehearsals, or at the next club meeting?
Because Carnival clubs, Mardi Gras societies, dance groups, circles of friends, and entire parade troupes need more than just a costume.
They need their own look.
The costume for the performance – individual clothing for Carnival and team gear for everything else
The elaborate costume or uniform naturally remains the centerpiece.
But by the time you're on the way to the event, the question arises: What does the group wear over or before it – Carnival club clothing?
A hoodie in the club colors, a matching jacket, or a shirt with this year’s motto instantly creates a sense of belonging.
And after the performance?
Costume off. Hoodie on. Keep partying.
Individual team clothing can therefore perfectly complement the official costume without competing with it.
1. Shirts for Carnival clubs and groups
T-shirts are probably the easiest way to start your own Carnival collection.
Club logo on the front, session motto on the back? An inside joke? The founding year? Member names? Or a completely unique design?
Especially for groups of friends and smaller Carnival groups, a shared shirt can even complement the actual group costume.
And the beauty of it is: After Carnival, a good shirt doesn't necessarily end up in the costume box.
2. Hoodies & Sweatshirts – for cold days and long nights
Anyone who has ever waited for hours for a Carnival parade knows: February can be damn cold. A Carnival hoodie is the solution.
A hoodie or sweatshirt in your own club colors is therefore not just nice, but quite practical.
With a logo, session motto, or your own design, it becomes real club gear.
For CREWILD, I see this as one of the strongest items for this target group:
Club colors + large back motif + small club logo on the front.
Works equally well for a Carnival club, a dance troupe, or a private group of friends.
3. Jackets for the Carnival parade
Things get even more practical with custom jackets.
For setting up, escorting floats, organization, or the way to the parade, not everyone needs their entire costume.
A matching jacket ensures that members and helpers are still immediately recognizable as part of the group.
And, of course, it can also be worn outside the actual season.
4. The underestimated idea: Bags to match the costume
Carnival bags - Bags for the club
Because where should you put your phone, wallet, keys, power bank, tissues, and everything else you need during a long Carnival day?
A plain black bag with an elaborately coordinated costume?
You can do that. But you don't have to. 😉
A small bag or fanny pack can be directly adapted in color and design to match the costume or the club colors.
Logo on it. Colors applied. Maybe even integrate the session motto.
That way, a practical object becomes part of the overall look.
5. Sports bags & travel bags for dance troupes
Dance troupes have completely different requirements again.
Costume, shoes, change of clothes, make-up, and accessories have to get to the event somehow.
An individual sports or travel bag with a club logo is not just practical for this – it also ensures a unified appearance upon arrival.
And every member immediately recognizes their bag.
Optionally, even names or initials can be part of the design.
6. Beanies & caps – small, but quite effective
Beanies and caps are especially ideal for outdoor parades.
Instead of just any winter hat:
Club color + logo + shared look.
They can also be excellently combined with hoodies and jackets to form a small club collection.
7. Not just for Carnival clubs
Because individual Carnival clothing is not just interesting for traditional societies.
Groups of friends, regulars' tables, companies, schools, dance groups, music groups, float builders, helper teams, and private parade troupes can also develop their own look.
Ten friends traveling to Cologne together?
A group walking in a local Carnival parade?
The company celebrating Carnival together?
Why have ten different outfits when you can turn them into your own small collection?
Your session motto becomes the design
It gets especially exciting when the clothing evolves every year.
The club logo stays. The base colors stay.
But the session motto, year, or design changes.
This way, a new shirt, hoodie, or accessory can be created every year – and older products eventually almost become collector's items.
2026/2027 Season. 2027/2028 Season. 2028/2029 Season.
That is much more emotional than any standard merchandise item.
No minimum order quantity – interesting for small groups
Not every Carnival group consists of 100 members.
Maybe you are twelve friends. A dance group with 20 members. Or a small Carnival club that just wants to try out a few items first.
That is why there is no minimum order quantity at CREWILD. You can start your collection with a small batch and add or reorder items later on.
This makes custom apparel an attractive option for small clubs and private groups as well.
From club logo to complete carnival collection
Almost anyone can print a logo on a standard shirt. We can think further ahead.
Club colors, logo, motto, typography, and graphic elements can be carried throughout various products.
For example:
T-shirt + hoodie + jacket + beanie + fanny pack + travel bag.
Not six individual promotional items. One cohesive collection.
The season begins on November 11 – now the preparation begins
The actual street carnival comes later. But clubs and groups start long before that with planning, rehearsals, events, and season openers. In the Cologne Carnival, numerous events are already on the calendar around November 11. Cologne Carnival
That is why now is the perfect time to start thinking about your apparel for the 2026/2027 season.
What do you need? Which colors represent you?
Should the club logo be the focus – or shall we develop something new together?
Your season. Your colors. Your crew.
